ETL CoronaCheck®

A rapid, reliable, non-invasive test for corona virus in exhaled breath

The rapid spread in coronavirus leads to a need for reliable Point of Care (PoC) tools enabling rapid screening for the virus. Current coronavirus testing doesn’t offer the desired reliability, typically resulting in too many false negatives. People infected with coronavirus are not detected by the system and return to their normal lives, believing they are not infected, yet spreading the virus.

At the same time, existing coronavirus testing methods are not developed for PoC use.  They typically offer RNA/DNA tests on nasal or mouth swabs requiring laboratory equipment for analysis and manual handling of the sample from each tests subject. Coronavirus spreads via small droplets in breath, aerosols, and scientific evidence exists to support the accurate detection of virus by Exhaled Breath Condensate (EBC.) Thus, testing for the virus in EBC seems to be an obvious opportunity to pursue.

Our mission is to make testing for coronavirus rapid, reliable and easy, providing instant results at Point of Care, requiring neither sample handing nor laboratory equipment.

A game changing PoC screening device to be used at the frontline in the fight against coronavirus.

ETL CoronaCheck® is a development of an existing technology, the Inflammacheck®, which is the only device in the market designed to collect EBC and tests for compounds directly therein at PoC.

We, at Exhalation Medical Technology, have been granted a license to explore this opportunity.

A Rapid Antigen Detection Test to Diagnose SARS-CoV-2 Infection Using Exhaled Breath Condensate by A Modified Inflammacheck® Device

Background: The standard test that identifies the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) is based on reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) from nasopharyngeal (NP) swab specimens. We compared the accuracy of a rapid antigen detection test using exhaled breath condensate by a modified Inflammacheck® device with the standard RT-PCR to diagnose SARS-CoV-2 infection.
